I stayed in bed until 9:45 this morning. Wow - I can't remember the last time I stayed in bed that late - certainly not since Bean was born. She woke up at 7, and Jim brought her to bed with us. If we're lucky, she'll fall back asleep for a bit after she eats. Unfortunately, this morning she decided to play her new favorite game -- "Smack Mommy in the Face and When She Moves, Grab Her Face as Hard as Your Chubby Little Hand Can Squeeze".
Jim took her downstairs to play with her so I could steal a little more sleep. I didn't wake up until 9:30, and I laid in bed listening to the sounds of my husband playing with our daughter - silly songs interspersed with running, squealing, and crashing sounds. It's moments like this when I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.
I finally went downstairs, and Jim had a big pot of coffee ready for me. We chat about our plans for today (not much since Bean has a bit of a cough), and then he says, in a serious voice you would use to tell someone you're going to an IRS audit meeting, "Oh, I need to go watch the UT-A&M game today at Texadelphia."
Hmmm, coincidence? In any case, I still feel pretty darn lucky :)

The whole Harless/Gorsegner family enjoyed this story, which I repeated to them at the dinner table. Way to go Jim! :)
